The Shantivan Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was established in 1988. This is the 24th successful year of our Ganeshotsav. The response and cooperation received form the residents of shantivan as well as outsiders has been very encouraging and tremedous in the past.

Over the years Ganeshotsav has become the most important cosmopolitan festival in Shantivan. People take part in the celebrations and events irrespective of their religion, caste and language. Folks of all ages and different walks of life willingly come forward and make the Ganeshotsav very colourful and enjoyable.

It has been decided to organise Ganeshotsav this year also as a memorable festival. On this occasion we request you all to join in the celebrations.

When the idea of commencing Ganeshotsav in Shantivan was mooted, it sounded like something impossible. Because, then all our residents were strangers to each other who have come to stay at this place from different parts of the city. But due to the dedicated hard work of handful of people, we could gather the Shantivanites under the banner of Shantivan Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal.

With only a handful of members, very few events were held in the first year . But since the second year , we have been arranging various programs . Variety Entertainment Programmes , Sports and Games, Drawing Competition are held every year to encourage and nurture brotherhood among Shantivanites.Also, prizes are awarded to the children of Shantivan for scoring high marks in Xth and XIIth standard examinations.
